Continuing the inclusion of health on the G20 agenda to accelerate progress towards United Nation’s sustainable development goals (UN SDGs)

Advocate for placing health at the centre of sustainable economic development, and recognising that economic development alone is not a guarantee that health inequalities will be decreased

Maintain focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and recognise that Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) can only be achieved with concerted efforts in R&D innovation to tackle the growing burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases

Scoping the health technology horizon for gaps that need to be filled in order to lessen inequalities in health and to fulfil SDG 3 commitments

Engage with G20 Health-, Finance Ministers and Heads of Governments to permanently establish global health on the financial agendas similar to the trends in climate change

Engage with G20 Governments and the Financial Stability Board to promote recognition that the global health burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases pose a growing economic threat to the global economy and that support for innovation in global health is an essential investment

Engage with G20 Governments to promote the establishment of an equivalent G20 body for global health which can draw more comprehensively upon global expertise in assessing and reporting the financial vulnerabilities stemming from global health challenges to prevent market shocks

Create a high-level panel following the 2019 Joint G20 Joint Session of Health and Finance Ministers’ meeting to fully implement the recommendations from the report on Healthy Nations – Sustainable Economies, with the intention of establishing new long-term ways of funding innovation in health
