Attended the joint G20 Development Working Group (DWG), C20, B20 and T20 event in Bonn on “Implementing the 2030 Agenda: How can engagement groups contribute?”

Invitation to join the B20 Health Initiative and contribute to the Policy Paper

Participated at the High-Level B20-OECD-BIAC joint session in Paris, a joint initiative between the B20 and OECD. This final conference before the G20 Summit in May featured a meeting of all B20 Task Forces and Cross-thematic Groups and focused on the advocacy of B20 Recommendations prior to the G20 Sherpa meeting

Global Health Innovation Event: The “Research for Impact and the G20: How can global health innovation drive sustainable development?” Roundtable event at the Quadriga Forum in Berlin laid the groundwork for the growth of the Partnership. The roundtable discussions were summarised in the Event Report.

Call to Action: Over 100 public and private health stakeholders backed four recommendations in a “Call to Action”, and published this in various media outlets ahead of the G20 Health Ministers summit in May 2017.

B20 Summit: Involvement with the B20 Summit where 700 representatives from business, government, civil society and international organisations gathered in Berlin

B20 Health Conference: Invitation to several Partnership members to speak at the B20 Health Conference

G20 Health Ministers Meeting: First G20 Health Ministers Meeting including explicit mention of Partnership members in Communique: Unitaid, CARB-X, TB Alliance, and CEPI, as well as the importance of Product Development Partnerships (PDPs)

Meeting in Geneva on the side-lines of WHA (22nd – 31st May): Meeting with members of the Partnership to discuss next steps and a drafting of an Open Letter to G20 Leaders.

Open Letter to G20 Leaders: The Letter signed by 35 organisations and 9 individuals was submitted to G20 Leaders, Sherpas and G20 Ambassador’s based in Berlin

Acknowledgements of the work of the Partnership by G20 leaders, the German Chancellery, EU Commissioner Vytenis Andruikaitis and the UK Government

Joint Press Release in Response to G20 Communique: A sub-group of the Partnership published an online press release and issued it to media in the U.S., the UK, Germany and Brussels welcoming the progress made on the ambitious G20 communique, particularly the references made to global health, health systems, pandemics and AMR

The G20 Health and Development Partnership Working Session – in the UK Houses of Parliament followed up on the G20 Global Health Innovation initiative. Participants reviewed the German Presidency of the G20 in 2017 and looked forward to the Argentinian Presidency in 2018 discussing how the Partnership could proceed in order to build on current accomplishments.
